Gluten-free vegan wrap recipes
As a vegan and a person with allergies, I sometimes get bored with the food I eat.
And sometimes I’ll see a recipe or a menu description and think, wow, I wish I could have that.
But wraps are different. There’s almost always a way to make them work for me, even if they don’t start as gluten free vegan wrap recipes.
Also, gluten-free wraps and tortillas are a thing now in stores. (When I was diagnosed with allergies, they were not.)
So, here are three of my favorite gluten-free vegan wrap recipes.Â

Hummus wrap
First up, my favorite hummus wrap. This was inspired by the Hummus Wrap at Clayton’s Cafe in Yarmouth Maine.
(If you are in Maine, you should just go there and get one. Wraps, sandwiches, and salads are somehow always better when someone else makes them for you, and this place is great.)
When you use a gluten free wrap for this, you should warm it up before adding the hummus – it will wrap much easier!
My Favorite Hummus Wrap
Ingredients
- 1 wrap or tortilla gluten free is desired/necessary
- 1/4-1/2 cup hummus depending on size of wrap and preference
- 1-2 cups veggies amount depends on size of wrap; red onion, shredded carrot, tomato, lettuce, bell pepper, cucumber, spinach, cabbage, olives
- 1-2 tbsp balsamic vinaigrette
Instructions
- Warm tortilla if desired, especially if using gluten-free.
- Spread hummus on tortilla or wrap.
- Add veggies.
- Drizzle with balsamic vinaigrette.
- Wrap, or fold like a huge taco if your wrapping skills are lacking.
- Eat.
- Find napkins. Keep eating.
Nut Butter Banana Wrap
I love peanut butter and bananas together, and the same feeling applies to other nut butters as well.
If you prefer a chocolate hazelnut spread, there are a few dairy-few brands. My favorite is Rigoni Asiago Nocciolata Organic Hazelnut & Cocoa Spread.
Nut Butter Banana Wrap
Ingredients
- 1 tortilla or wrap gluten free if desired/needed
- 1 banana, sliced
- 3-4 tbsp nut butter or seed butter of choice
Instructions
- Spread nut butter on tortilla or wrap.
- Add sliced bananas.
- Roll like a jelly-roll.
“Chicken” “Caesar” Wrap
This wrap is a go-to for me for lunches. It comes together very quickly, as you can whip up the dressing while the “chicken” is heating.
Again, you’ll want to warm the tortilla first if you’re using a gluten-free product.
If you like, you can use sautéed tofu instead of prepared faux-chicken; that will just add some prep time.

“Chicken” “Caesar” Wrap
Ingredients
- 1 tortilla or wrap gluten free if desired/needed
- 1 handful greens baby spinach works great!
- 4-6 ounces faux-chicken Sweet Earth brand contains no gluten, but is not certified gluten-free
- 1/4 cup very finely chopped red bell peppers optional
- 2 tbsp sliced black olives optional
- 1 tbsp vegan parmesan
Dressing Ingredients
- 2 tbsp vegan mayonnaise
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp brine from a jar of olives or capers optional
- 1 tsp dijon mustard
- 2-3 tsp nutritional yeast
Instructions
- Cook "chicken" according to package instructions.
- Meanwhile, prepare dressing by mixing all dressing ingredients.
- Warm tortilla if desired, especially if using gluten free.
- Add spinach to tortilla, then chicken, then optional peppers or olives, then dressing, then parmesan.
- Wrap, fold, or roll.
Bottom Line
Eat wraps.
